LSA’s Mobility group is seeking an Assistant Transportation Planner/Engineer. Candidates should be familiar with the fundamentals of transportation planning, traffic engineering and elements of the Highway Capacity Manual level of service/delay analyses. The ideal candidate will have experience in the four step traffic assignment process, research and technical analysis, intersection level of service software (e.g., Synchro, Vistro, Traffix), and microsimulation software (e.g., Sim Traffic, Vis Sim, Trans Modeler).
The candidate should also have the ability to convey technical information through report writing, including documentation of complex topics in a concise and understandable manner. Excellent written communication skills are a requirement. Flexible workplace schedules may be arranged and allow for potential hybrid in-office/remote opportunities, subject to supervisor discretion.
- Traffic operations software:
Synchro, Vistro, Traffix - Geographic information system (GIS) applications
- Research of transportation, land use, and environmental topics
- Spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel)
- Modern travel model software:
Trans
CAD, Visum, Cube/Voyager
Successful candidates must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in transportation planning, traffic engineering, urban planning, or a related field.
CompensationThe salary range for this position is $49,000 to $78,000 per year. The compensation offer will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
