About the roleWe are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and vehicle accident reconstruction experience to join our forensic team. In this role you will analyze mechanical systems and reconstruct accident scenarios, providing clear, defensible conclusions that impact legal and insurance cases.
Responsibilities- Investigate accident sites, vehicles, and mechanical equipment, document evidence, and determine damage.
- Assess damages due to failures and determine the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support.
- Research, evaluate, analyze, and test the causation of accidents and failures.
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines to produce detailed reports outlining the cause of accident.
- Serve as expert witness in court and depositions.
- Document and maintain billable hours on a time and expense basis for forensic projects.
- Collaborate with the national forensic team to share experience and assist on projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned, support quality programs, and travel as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- Six or more years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Vehicle accident reconstruction experience required; ACTAR certification preferred.
- Strong analytical, interpretive, oral and written communication skills.
- PC literate, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently or in a team.
- Ability to meet or exceed performance competencies.
Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, work outdoors in varying weather, climb, lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 100 lbs, and drive up to 4 hours daily.
