VP, Civil Engineering Project Manager (PSR, PA/ED and/or PS&E Delivery)
WSP is searching for a full‑time Vice President, Civil Engineering Project Manager to support Southern California projects. The role can be based out of any of WSP’s California offices. The incumbent will lead the Civil Engineering Transportation team, drive business development, and manage high‑profile roadway and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop the Civil Engineering Transportation team, partnering with Local Business Leader and Senior Management.
- Mentor staff, recruit key positions, and support professional development.
- Drive business development initiatives, including client engagement, strategy development, and partnership building.
- Manage project delivery for Caltrans and local agencies, overseeing contractual, financial, quality and risk management aspects.
- Act as Contract Manager or Project Manager on key projects and participate in contract negotiations.
- Provide leadership and oversight to ensure high‑quality project deliverables, including PS&E documents, engineering reports, and project memorandums.
- Travel as required by specific project needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or closely related discipline.
- Engineer license required (California preferred).
- 12+ years of post‑education experience in civil engineering and infrastructure design.
- 10+ years of experience on Caltrans related projects.
- Strong management and leadership skills; ability to work independently and guide mid‑ to senior‑level teams.
- Proficiency in technical writing and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience as a project manager, deputy project manager, construction manager or task lead on projects.
- Experience leading and growing civil engineering business.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience with California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
- Local agency roadway and intersection planning and design experience.
- Familiarity with design software such as Micro Station, InRoads/Open Roads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related tools.
Expected Salary (all locations): $203,000 – $285,200
