Operations Technician II / III — Water Quality Team
Locations: Riverside and Murrieta Area.

- Operate and maintain potable and recycled water systems, including SCADA, GPS, and computerized work management systems.
- Inspect, calibrate, and maintain light/heavy equipment, tools, and vehicles.
- Perform water quality sampling, laboratory analysis, and chemical testing; interpret results and report findings.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints and distribution system issues.
- Operate lockout/tag‑out and confined‑space procedures to ensure safety.
- Conduct cross‑connection and back‑flow inspections; enforce back‑flow regulations.
- Assist in the Arlington Desalter operations, monitoring flows, and ensuring permit compliance.
- Coordinate procurement of supplies, equipment, and coordinate with other districts.
- Maintain accurate records in the Computerized Work Management System (CWMS) and other district systems.
- Support disaster and emergency response efforts as a Disaster Emergency Service Worker.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; 18 semester units of apprenticeship may substitute six months of professional experience.
- 2 years performing duties similar to an Ops Technician II for Ops Tech III; 2 years for Ops Tech IV.
- Valid California Driver License and acceptable physical requirements.
- Water Quality Certification;
Distribution 3/Treatment 3 (a) or higher; CCCS (a) preferred. - Proficiency with computer software, SCADA, and work‑management systems.
- Strong customer‑service and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical documentation.
- Experience with heavy manual labor, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, mathematical, and instrumentation principles related to water systems.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, evenings, holidays, and emergency operations.
