The School of Education (SOE) at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) is committed to its mission to advance equitable educational systems and practices, which are driven by core values of equity, evidence, excellence, community, critical thinking, and compassion. Located in the Inland Empire, a racially and economically diverse region on Tribal lands, UCR is a land-grant public institution designated as a Hispanic-serving, Minority Serving, and Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution.
Within this context, we seek to hire a Supervisor of Teacher Education to help prepare educators to be critical thinkers who address the needs of all students in culturally responsive ways. Our Teacher Education Program (TEP) trains teachers to use theory to guide practice, approach teaching using collaborative and co-teaching models, practice restorative justice and models of authentic care, and integrate arts and technology across disciplines.
Our Teacher Supervisors guide these aspiring teachers through their fieldwork with partner school districts, supporting their progress in applying their pedagogical skill in alignment with the Common Core State Standards to serve students in the Inland Empire and beyond through social justice oriented, community engaged frameworks.
TEP invites applications for two Supervisor of Teacher Education positions. One position will be based at UCR and is open to all subjects. The second position is open to all subjects and will be based out of UCR's Palm Desert Center. These positions are for one year, in a cohort- based program, and may be part time or full time. The UCR Teacher Education Program is committed to serving the Inland Southern California community and has partnerships with schools and districts throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
It provides high quality, focused teacher preparation grounded in comprehensive mentoring for student and intern teachers. The incumbent of the position based out of UCR's Palm Desert Office will be working with candidates placed in the surrounding districts. The position will commence July 1, 2026, or as negotiated.
