Senior Recruiter @ Pave Talent & VP Business Dev @ HUNDY!

Ready to design fire stations, police headquarters, and libraries that serve your community for decades?

Join a 35+ year architecture firm where you'll gain more exposure in one month than you might in a year at a larger practice. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside a senior architect mentor while enjoying the autonomy and accelerated growth that only a small firm can offer.

About Our Client

Our client is an established boutique architecture firm with 35+ years of experience specializing in public sector projects across Southern California. With approximately 10 team members and offices in the Inland Empire region, they're known for their collaborative culture, community impact, and long‑term client relationships. Their portfolio includes fire stations, police stations, libraries, community centers, and schools that enrich the communities they serve.

Your Impact

As Assistant Project Manager / Designer, you'll contribute to meaningful public safety and civic projects from design through construction. You'll join a team currently working on two major police stations heading to construction this summer, plus fire stations and a new library project. With direct access to firm leadership and a dedicated senior mentor, you'll develop expertise across the full project lifecycle while shaping facilities that protect and serve communities.

What You’ll Do

  • Support public sector projects through all phases from schematic design through construction administration
  • Produce and manage BIM models in Revit for municipal clients including police and fire departments
  • Develop construction documents, technical details, and specifications for complex civic facilities
  • Collaborate with principals, consultants, and municipal stakeholders in a horizontal team structure
  • Navigate public sector requirements including DSA submittals and agency approvals
  • Contribute design solutions for specialized building types including public safety facilities

Required Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of professional architecture experience
  • Strong Revit production capability with years of proficiency matching years in the profession
  • Proven experience supporting projects through the construction phase (not just schematic/DD)
  • Public sector project background (municipal, civic, educational, or government facilities)
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Architect or progressing toward licensure
  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • Direct experience with fire stations, police facilities, or law enforcement projects
  • Small firm environment experience with a "roll‑up and learn" mentality

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary
  • Medical insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Pension plan
  • Paid paternity leave
  • Disability insurance
  • Flexible hybrid arrangements possible after Year 1

The Culture

This is a close‑knit team where your ideas matter from day one. Previous hires report learning more in their first month than in an entire year at larger firms. You'll have a senior architect with 20+ years of experience available to mentor and guide your development, giving you the best of both worlds: small‑firm autonomy with structured professional growth.
