Administrative Services Supervisor – DPSS Technology and Support Services
The County of Riverside’s Department of Public Social Services is seeking to fill an Administrative Services Supervisor position to support the DPSS Technology and Support Services (TSS) unit in Riverside, CA.
The Administrative Services Supervisor will oversee software purchasing and service desk operations, manage equipment retrieval and tracking, monitor software license counts, forecast staffing needs, process over 300 monthly software requests via Service Now, coordinate software procurements and renewals, and provide detailed reporting on software purchases and renewals.
- Manage software purchasing and service desk operations.
- Monitor software license counts and prevent unnecessary procurement.
- Forecast departmental staffing needs by tracking license thresholds.
- Process license approvals, budgeting, purchase requests, and troubleshooting.
- Onboard Zoom licenses for SSD and SD.
- Coordinate DPSS software procurements, renewals, and removals in collaboration with fiscal and purchasing teams.
- Maintain monthly equipment retrieval dashboards in Service Now.
- Support equipment retrieval and tracking by updating asset records and reviewing unused or duplicate devices.
- Manage Office 365 license terminations and liaise with inventory teams.
- Generate reports for equipment tracking, train staff, update SOPs, and maintain monthly dashboards.
- Advanced knowledge of IT service desk (SLA) and Microsoft Suite products.
- IT work experience with Service Now.
- Lean Six Sigma or equivalent project management training experience preferred.
- At least one year of full-time working experience in facility support services or IT-related capacity within a public agency.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, public administration, finance, or a closely related field.
- Two to four years of paraprofessional or technical experience in an administrative capacity, including one to two years of journey level experience.
- Knowledge of public and business administration principles, fiscal management, budget preparation, contract monitoring, and personnel management.
- Ability to analyze administrative problems, develop solutions, foster cooperative relationships, and prepare clear reports.
