SUE Technician I
Department: Transportation
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Riverdale, UT

As a SUE Field Technician I, you will support the Utah team by collecting field data, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
What are the core responsibilities for the role?- Obtains and maintains all required safety certifications.
- Communicate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to the project.
- Manage time effectively, organize, and work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet project deadlines and client needs.
- Assist field crews with utility investigations.
- Assist on vacuum truck to expose utilities.
- Accurately and efficiently collect field data.
- Coordinate with supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being met both in the office and in the field.
- Read and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings, and highway design plans.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the company’s strategic goals.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds, walk for extended periods, and work in all weather conditions, be willing to work evenings/weekends when required, and be willing to travel for overnight and extended stay projects as required.
Competencies:
- SUE Technician I (0-2 Years Experience)
- On the job training will be provided to obtain necessary skills to complete SUE tasks.
- GPS survey a plus.
- Excavating around utilities a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Additional schooling or training is a plus.
- Solid work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a team-player attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Must be able to quickly grasp new technologies.
- Able to occasionally travel out of town and work overtime.
- Should be able to walk long distances of several miles daily.
- Good driving skills and a clean driving record.
- Able to work in teams and get along with coworkers.
- Outdoor work in all climates.
Work with clients in a professional manner. - Thorough understanding of ASCE 38 guidelines and associated quality levels is a plus.
- Survey, 811, or Blue stakes experience is a plus.
- Strong computer and technical skills;
Auto CAD, Micro Station, or similar application is a plus. - Perform basic math and measurements.
- Assist with additional projects as assigned.
- Obtain DOT Medical Card.
