The candidate must hold an Educator License with Stipulations (ELS):
Endorsed as a Paraprofessional Educator (PARA).
- Completed at least 60 Semester Hours of Credit from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. (Excluding remedial coursework).
- Paraprofessional experience from Pre-K through Age 21 preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, students' parents and community
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Under the direction of the Middle School Principal, collaborate with staff members to provide academic assistance to students.
- Demonstrated ability to implement varied classroom instructional strategies
- Educational vision for and experience with low-income and /or minority students
- Clarifying learning programs
- Working on study skills
- Reviewing class materials
- Discussing text material
- Helping students work out problems
- Promoting independent learning and self-reliance
- Document student performance and progress in collaboration with classroom Teacher
- Document daily student attendance
- Monitor student behavior
- Meet regularly with other staff members and classroom teachers to coordinate interdisciplinary programs and activities
- Other duties as assigned
