Position
Purpose:
Food and food service delivery.
- Drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over‑the‑road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive‑and‑drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food‑related products to customers safely and on time in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers, answering questions accurately and timely.
- Perform all required safety checks, including pre‑/post‑trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations.
- Report all safety issues, repairs required, and hazards immediately.
- Inspect trailers for proper loading, secure freight, and verify customer orders with signatures.
- Collect payments, handle customer returns, and secure trailer doors.
- Unload damaged goods and remove trash from trailers.
- Maintain daily record of hours of service and enter logs per Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
- Perform general housekeeping duties and keep trailers and loading dock area clean.
- Complete required paperwork at end of shift.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- 6+ months commercial driving experience.
- Valid CDL‑A license.
- 21+ years of age.
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
- Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
- Pass road test.
- Attain or have a valid current DOT Health Card and/or be able to secure a new DOT Health Card.
- Ability to hand‑lift and utilize two‑wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and stack product cases/freight ranging from 10‑35 pounds up to 60‑90 pounds.
- 1+ years food service distribution/delivery industry experience.
- Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (e.g., People Net).
- Hand‑held point‑of‑delivery scanning system experience (e.g., POD).
- Customer service‑related work experience.
