BeVera Solutions seeks a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Project Director / Deputy PM. The Deputy Project Director / Deputy Project Manager (Deputy PM) supports the overall leadership, management, and successful execution of the National Technical Assistance Center (NDTAC) contract. This role serves as the primary support to the Project Director and acts as the second-in-command for day-to-day operations, technical assistance delivery, staff coordination, and contract compliance.

The Deputy PM plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality technical assistance, timely deliverables, effective stakeholder engagement, and adherence to all U.S. Department of Education (ED) requirements. The position requires strong project management, communication, and coordination skills within a complex, multi-stakeholder federal environment.

Responsibilities
  • Project & Contract Management
  • Support the Project Director in managing all aspects of the NDTAC contract, including scope, schedule, deliverables, and performance metrics.
  • Serve as Acting Project Director in the Project Director’s absence, with full authority to manage operations and client communications.
  • Track contract milestones, reporting requirements, and deliverable timelines to ensure compliance with ED expectations.
  • Assist in managing project budgets, labor allocations, and level-of-effort tracking in coordination with finance and contracts teams.
  • Support risk identification and mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Technical Assistance & Program Oversight
  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of high-quality technical assistance to State Educational Agencies (SEAs), local programs, and stakeholders serving neglected or delinquent children and youth.
  • Ensure technical assistance activities align with statutory requirements under Title I, Part D of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).
  • Support development and quality assurance of TA products, including toolkits, guidance documents, briefs, webinars, trainings, and online resources.
  • Monitor TA requests, response timelines, and outcomes to ensure responsiveness and effectiveness.
  • Contribute subject matter expertise related to education programs for neglected or delinquent youth, alternative education, juvenile justice education, or related fields.
  • Staff Leadership & Coordination
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and coordination of project staff, consultants, and subcontractors as assigned.
  • Support onboarding, task assignments, workload balancing, and performance monitoring for project team members.
  • Facilitate regular internal team meetings, work groups, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and consistent implementation of project processes and SOPs.
  • Serve as a mentor and escalation point for staff questions related to project operations and client needs.
  • Stakeholder & Client Engagement
  • Serve as a key point of contact with the U.S. Department of Education, project officers, and federal stakeholders as delegated by the Project Director.
  • Support preparation and delivery of briefings, progress updates, and presentations for ED leadership and external partners.
  • Coordinate engagement with national, state, and local partners, including education agencies, justice agencies, advocacy organizations, and service providers.
  • Ensure consistent, professional, and timely communication across all stakeholder interactions.
  • Monitoring, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Support data collection, performance monitoring, and reporting activities required under the contract.
