Job SummaryThe Assisted Living Nurse at Ashiyana is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to residents in compliance with Maryland state regulations, federal guidelines, and Ashiyana’s policies and procedures. This role requires an experienced nursing professional with strong clinical skills, sound judgment, and a genuine passion for senior care.
Key Responsibilities- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely per physician orders and regulatory requirements.
- Perform initial, routine, and change-in-condition assessments for residents.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized care and service plans.
- Monitor residents’ physical, emotional, and cognitive status and respond promptly to changes.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary care teams regarding resident needs and care updates.
- Provide clinical oversight for wound care, infection control, and chronic condition management as assigned.
- Respond promptly and professionally to medical emergencies and ensure proper follow-up and documentation.
- Support resident admissions, discharges, and transitions of care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in electronic health record systems.
- Provide education and guidance to residents, families, and staff related to health and wellness.
- Collaborate with leadership and all departments to ensure a safe, clean, and supportive living environment.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety standards, and quality assurance policies.
- Education & Licensure
:
Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program. Current Maryland LPN license in good standing. - Experience
:
Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, preferably in assisted living, long-term care, or senior care settings. - Certifications
:
Current CPR/BLS certification required. - Skills
:
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking abilities. Basic computer skills and experience with electronic health records. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively as part of a team. - Personal Attributes
