Medicaid Policy Technical Lead

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS), Children and Adults Health Programs Group (CAHPG).

As a Health Insurance Specialist, referred to here as Medicaid Policy Technical Lead, GS-0107-14, you will develop program policy, interpret program requirements, methods, and procedures; monitor, review, evaluate, and assess the integrity and quality of program operations.

• Develop and conduct program policy or data analyses to identify and understand the needs and preferences of CMCS programs and the beneficiaries we serve.
• Develop program policy, interpreting program requirements, methods, and procedures; monitoring reviewing, evaluating, and assessing the integrity and quality of program operations.
• Develop and review legislation, regulations instructions and management reports, keeping management informed of program and legislative development.
• Serve as a technical authority for Medicaid and CHIP program policy development and implementation and provide technical direction and leadership to staff.
• Develop, interpret, and apply specific laws, regulations, and policies that directly improve state fiscal accountability and improve the efficiency of existing oversight activities of the Medicaid program and the related interactions with States.
