Newton | Engineering & Space Systems
Build Technology That Advances Science and Exploration
The world’s leading scientists, research institutions, and aerospace programs rely on highly specialized technology to achieve their missions. At Newton, we design and build the systems that make those missions possible.
Our engineers develop advanced mechanical and electromechanical systems, from high‑precision spacecraft pointing mechanisms to shock isolation systems used in demanding environments. We work across the entire product lifecycle: concept development, detailed design, analysis, testing, and delivery.
We are looking for highly motivated engineering students who want to apply their technical skills to real‑world challenges and contribute to meaningful engineering projects.
At Newton, interns are not observers, they are contributors.
What You’ll Work OnAs an Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers and contribute directly to product development efforts.
You may be involved in:
- Designing components and assemblies using CAD
- Supporting engineering analysis and modeling
- Assisting with prototype builds and hardware testing
- Developing test plans and analyzing results
- Supporting engineering design reviews
- Preparing technical documentation and engineering drawings
- Collaborating with teams across engineering, manufacturing, and quality
You will gain exposure to real engineering problems, real hardware, and real design decisions.
Who Thrives in This RoleWe are looking for students who are:
- Curious about how complex systems work
- Motivated to solve challenging technical problems
- Comfortable learning new tools and technologies quickly
- Interested in both design and hands‑on engineering work
- Able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
The strongest candidates typically enjoy building things, analyzing systems, and turning ideas into working hardware.
Qualifications- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong academic performance (GPA 3.0+ preferred)
- Experience with CAD, programming, robotics, electronics, or engineering projects is a plus
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
