Our Pharmacy Managers play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their respective pharmacy by acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for their pharmacy team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities.
  • Support novel program awareness, onboard newly hired pharmacy team members, and recognize colleagues for their success.
  • Consistently exhibit best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing patients with meaningful counseling, and abiding by all legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
  • Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts with coaching and follow-up to strengthen performance measures.
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and coaching the team to do the same; collaborate with the patient’s total healthcare team and proactively resolve insurance and/or medication issues.
  • Offer and deliver immunizations and identify, engage, and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory with emphasis on protecting cold chain products; ensure adherence to inventory best practices.
  • Conduct onboarding for new Technicians and Pharmacists for the store and district, including training on CVS workflow and ensuring timely completion of required training and licensure.
  • Ensure pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline and ensure cross-trained colleagues complete required training for licensure.
  • Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (DPSs) where applicable; deliver annual performance reviews and close gaps as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; write or oversee pharmacy scheduling and ensure scheduling aligns with business needs.
  • Review business reporting for operational insights and develop action plans to close gaps in workflow, service, patient care, and compliance.
  • Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion; encourage feedback and take relevant action.
  • Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills and pursue opportunities to expand knowledge to support patients.
  • Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and CVS Health policies to support patient safety and protect privacy and security.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist
