Qualifications
EDUCATION:
* Licensed Registered Nurse
* Knowledge of Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) and Clinical Judgement Measurement Model.
* At least two years of instructional experience. At least 5 years of clinical experience working as a Registered Nurse. Experience supporting student success in NCLEX preparation. Strong student engagement and communication skills.
Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
The NCLEX Review Instructor provides high-quality, student-centered instruction in an online/virtual format, with scheduled evening availability, teaching the Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) Review Course. The instructor prepares nursing graduates to successfully pass the licensure examination through structured content review, clinical judgment development, case-based learning, and evidence-based test-taking strategies aligned with the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Delivers engaging, active-learning instruction in a synchronous virtual classroom environment.
2. Teaches the Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) Review curriculum aligned with current NCSBN test plans.
3. Integrates clinical judgment, case-study analysis, and NGN item-type practice (extended multiple response, matrix, bow-tie, case scenarios, etc.).
4. Reinforces nursing content areas including pharmacology, medical-surgical, maternal-child, mental health, and fundamentals.
5. Provides timely, constructive feedback and maintains updated grade records.
6. Maintains availability for scheduled evening virtual sessions.
7. Utilizes instructional technology platforms (LMS, virtual classroom tools, and NCLEX prep software).
8. Submits syllabi electronically and adheres to Continuing Education policies.
9. Prepares and administers NGN-style assessments aligned with course objectives.
10. Submits attendance, midterm, and final grade reports by established deadlines.
11. Communicates regularly with students regarding progress and readiness for NCLEX.
12. Supports diverse learners and refers students to appropriate college support services when needed.
13. Collaborates with Continuing Education leadership on curriculum updates and NGN alignment.
14. Holds virtual office hours as outlined in the syllabus.
15. Maintains current licensure and professional credentials.
16. Performs other related duties consistent with adjunct faculty responsibilities.
