Instruction Aide

Position: Instruction Aide I
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

Create an inviting atmosphere to provide students, faculty and staff

assistance and guidance in the use of computers, scanners, printers and

Microsoft applications within the ETRC open lab. Assist/support student

navigation of Blackboard/Online courses, student emails and student portal

functions. Collaborate with Faculty to reserve computer area for class

participation.

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

Previous work in customer-based office environment.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Monitor the function of all computers, scanners and printers, including

changing toners and replenishing printer paper supply.

2. Assisting all users of the ETRC both over the phone and in person

regarding Blackboard/online course, student email and student portal

inquiries.

3. Manage the daily operations of the ETRC Help/Front desk

Obtain knowledge for dispensing and retrieving technical loan equipment

using Integrated Library system. (ILS)

4. Maintain order of the ETRC computer lab, deal with disruptions,

problems/concerns according to Triton College and ETRC policies and

procedures.

5. Maintain cleanliness of computers, mouse, mouse pads, scanners and

printers and overall appearance of the ETRC.

6. Ensure/safeguard opening and closing of the ETRC, attentiveness for the

prevention of theft, destruction of hardware and software and Illegal

activities such as software pirating and copyright infringement.

7. Identify software applications and hardware malfunctions and report to

manager, coordinator or supervisor.

8. Other duties assigned.
