Position SummaryDominican University seeks a part-time Adjunct Faculty member to teach courses in English for the Italian discipline during the Fall 2026 term. The instructor should have good knowledge of the literature and culture of the Renaissance period. Instructors should have previous college level teaching experience and should have familiarity with teaching online through a course management system.
Adjunct faculty are contracted on a course-by-course basis and are responsible for instructional delivery and student learning for assigned course sections.
Courses will be offered in an asynchronous online format.
Course Assignment
Duties and Responsibilities- Deliver course instruction consistent with the approved course syllabus and learning outcomes
- Prepare course materials and assessments appropriate to the discipline
- Submit grades and required academic records accurately and on time
- Provide reasonable availability to students, including scheduled online office hours
- Respond to student communication within a reasonable timeframe
- Follow university academic policies and accommodation procedures
- Coordinate with the Department Chair regarding course delivery and academic matters
- Master’s degree in Italian Studies
- Demonstrated academic or professional expertise appropriate to the course subject matter
- Experience using a learning management system (Canvas)
- Relevant professional or applied experience in the field
- Salary: $3,000 – $3,500 (per 3-credit course)
