Do you enjoy hands‑on work, solving mechanical problems, and keeping critical systems running smoothly? We’re looking for a Plant Operations Technician to help maintain and operate essential facility and power plant systems in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
What You’ll Do- Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC, boiler, and power plant equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and system repairs
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and respond to equipment needs
- Repair and maintain pumps, compressors, steam and water systems
- Support and maintain building automation systems (VAVs, AHUs, thermostats)
- Document work and follow safety and operational procedures
- 2+ years of experience in a related mechanical or facilities role
- Strong mechanical and HVAC knowledge
- Proven troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Basic computer skills and clear communication
- Reliability, teamwork, and a safety‑first mindset

Operates and performs repairs and preventive maintenance on heating and air conditioning systems, boilers and power plant equipment.
Primary Responsibilities- Monitors, operates and adjusts facility equipment and power plant machinery following defined procedures. Performs scheduled inspection of various equipment for preventive maintenance programs and maintains records per policy.
- Repairs broken water and/or steam lines and installs new lines. Performs water and air balancing to ensure proper distribution per system design. Overhauls and maintains all types of pumps, including centrifugal, rotor, positive displacement and multiple stage feed pumps. Overhauls and maintains multiple stage air compressors.
- Overhauls and maintains hot water heating systems.
- Cleans and repairs pneumatic and low voltage regulating controls; steam pressure control valves; various types of heat exchangers; and electrical motors and vacuum pumps.
- Maintains and upgrades the building automation system and integral components to the system such as but not limited to variable air volume (VAVs), thermostats, air handling unit (AHU) controllers, and makes adjustments to control strategies as conditions change.
- Makes rounds to check all mechanical equipment in the facility to ascertain that it is working properly. Performs troubleshooting when and where required.
- Performs maintenance welding and occasional silver soldering and brazing, and sweat copper as needed.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.
- Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Rare use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
- Rare driving.
