Packer - 1st Shift (Short-Term Project) Location: Ripon, WI Pay Rate: $17.00/hour Job Summary
The Packer is responsible for packaging finished wafer products into boxes for shipment in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This is a short-term project position, expected to last approximately 2-3 weeks, with potential for temp-to-hire for candidates who perform well. The role ensures products are packed accurately, safely, and in compliance with food safety, quality, and company standards.
Schedule & Hours
- 1st Shift | Monday-Friday
- Must be available between 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Shift lengths may vary within this window; not always 12-hour shifts
- No more than 40 hours per week
- Sunday work may be available as needed
- Pack finished wafer products into cartons and shipping boxes according to production requirements
- Place sealed wafer packages into boxes for shipment
- Ensure correct counts, proper labeling, and packaging integrity
- Inspect products and packaging for defects or damage and report issues to a supervisor
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
- Follow all food safety, quality, and sanitation standards (GMPs)
- Adhere to all safety rules and procedures
- Assist with line changeovers, restocking packaging materials, and other duties as assigned
- Work efficiently to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous food manufacturing or packaging experience is a plus, but not required
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 10-50 pounds as needed
- Repetitive hand and arm motions
- Ability to bend, reach, and twist throughout the shift
- Food manufacturing facility
- Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and temperature variations
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
