Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift - Ripon, WI (onsite)
Overview- We are seeking a results-driven Production Supervisor to lead and support our high-performance production team in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. This key leadership position upholds a safety-first culture, emphasizes continuous improvement, and exemplifies servant leadership to foster an engaged, motivated workforce.
- As a Production Supervisor - 2nd shift, you will be the first line leader to support team members within your area/zone. You will be responsible for coordinating safe and efficient day-to-day activities in order to maintain scheduled production requirements and to ensure your team is safe and successful.
- This position will be based in Ripon, WI. This position will be on 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, 3:00pm to 1:00am. There may be occasional overtime required on Fridays from 1:00pm-9:00pm.
Primary duties:
- Lead safety initiatives to create a culture of safety awareness and compliance
- Educate, train, and motivate production Team Members on safety protocols and procedures
- Creates an environment of continuous improvement and safety awareness for all Team Members
- Empowers and expects every team member to contribute to continuous improvement
- Demonstrates a core value of respectful treatment of all team members in every discussion, interaction and decision
- Coach and mentor production Team Members in best practices for safety and productivity
- Desires to eliminate risks waste and to develop team member skill to improve lean operations
- Ensure that employees are properly trained by their Team Leader or other designated trainer in the areas of safety, quality, equipment operation and 5S
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages team feedback and participation in safety initiatives
- Interface with technical staff to ensure proper support
- Establish annual goals and objectives that support the attainment of operating metrics
- Work to continuously improve processes and reduce inventories and work in progress
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding employee relations issues
- Interface with Union Stewards in contract and discipline issues
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering or Operations is preferred.
- Proven history of ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
- 1-3 years of experience in a medium/high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on safety practices is preferred.
- Previous manufacturing supervision experience would be preferred.
- Must be self-driven and ambitious with proven leadership capabilities, including providing coaching, mentoring and supervision within a team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Fast cycle times required.
- Ability to maintain rates and production standards.
