What you’ll be doing
  • Working closely with a small team of managers to ensure the store runs like clockwork every day.
  • Taking responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of the store, often as the only manager on duty with full shop accountability.
  • Working alongside a team to complete all tasks, ensuring our customers are served efficiently and safely.
  • Managing people – overseeing performance and capability, conducting disciplinaries and ensuring scheduling and pay are accurate.
  • Supporting other stores on an occasional basis within our close‑knit network.
What makes a great customer & trading manager
  • Previous line‑management responsibilities in a fast‑paced, operational environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to coach a team to do the same.
  • Track record of delivering KPIs or other performance indicators.
  • Experience managing disciplinaries, performance issues and employee‑relations matters.
  • Comfortable leading operations and operating independently in the absence of senior management.
Essential Criteria
  • Track record of delivering brilliant customer service and coaching colleagues.
  • Experience leading a team in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing environment – motivating others, driving performance and keeping operations running smoothly.
  • Operational leadership skills – taking responsibility for store operations when senior managers are absent.
  • Proven success in meeting or exceeding KPIs – sales, availability, customer satisfaction or colleague engagement.
  • Experience managing employee‑relations issues, including performance and absence management.
