Overview
Position:
Registered Nurse (RN) – Ambulatory Care, Orthopaedics Clinic – SRMC. FTE: 1.00.
Employment type:
Full-time.
Shift: Days.
Location:
Albuquerque, NM. Sign-On Bonus Available. Relocation Assistance Available. Compensation:
Minimum $29.22/hr;
Maximum $47.33/hr wage differentials: 17% Weekday Nights, 26% Weekend Nights, 15% Weekend Day shift.
Note:
Compensation is based on factors including experience, education, and other business considerations.
- Provide safe, direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in the ambulatory setting.
- Provide clinical leadership for staff and clinical mentorship; serve as role model.
- Provide full range of patient education to patients and family members.
- Assume relief charge duties when designated; work under the direction of the shift supervisor.
- Ensure adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Care for patients across neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups as assigned.
- Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols; identify and report environmental conditions that may pose risk.
- Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden or adverse patient developments.
- Assess patient condition and nursing needs; set goals and apply appropriate nursing actions; document care provided and ensure physician orders are carried out.
- Maintain equipment and monitor supply and medication requisitions; document and report pertinent patient observations and reactions.
- Administer medications and perform routine treatments; assist physicians with tests, procedures, and complex treatments.
- Participate in orientation and evaluation of new personnel; coordinate patient care with other departments as needed.
- Process data and generate reports; assist in reception and discharge areas; triage patient calls and manage walk-in patients with appropriate documentation.
- Document medical history or chief complaint; ensure medical records contain necessary information; document lab cultures and follow up on abnormal results.
- Report potential or actual patient safety concerns and encourage patient participation in care.
- Adhere to core expectations of Patient Centered Medical Home or Patient Centered Specialty Practice as applicable.
- Serve as a mentor to patients to promote self-management, hope, and empowerment.
- Educate patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and prescribed treatments.
Education
- Program Graduate
- Bachelor’s Degree (Nonessential)
- Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
- Nursing (Nonessential)
Experience
- Three years of directly related experience; bilingual in English and Spanish or relevant languages as listed (e.g., Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, Navajo) is noted in the original description but not elaborated as a requirement. Include as applicable.
Credentials
- CPR for Healthcare/Basic Life Support Provider or Professional Rescuer within 30 days
- RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM

- Medically hazardous exposure: chemicals/dangerous equipment/materials; tuberculosis testing required at hire and as required.
