Position Summary
Position Summary: Supervise diet office staff. Ensure adherence to diet office procedures. Supervise the checking of the accuracy of patient meal trays. Maintain quality control in the formula room. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed Responsibilities- SUPERVISION - Supervise all diet office functions, procedures, and staff
- SUPERVISION - Responsible for hiring, orienting, overseeing training, disciplining, and evaluating staff
- SCHEDULES - Prepare work schedules and cover for vacancies
- MENUS - Oversee menu preparation, distribution and collection
- SUPERVISION - Supervise dietary employees in checking food trays on trayline; help on trayline when needed
- LATE TRAYS - Responsible for making sure late trays are prepared and delivered to patients
- FORMULA ROOM - Supervise patient formula preparation in the formula room and ensure that formula room procedures are followed
- COMPLIANCE - Oversee compliance with using computer system for diet office functions
- MANUAL - Utilize the approved nutrition care manual in the provision of nutrition services
- NEEDS - Assist clinical nutrition staff with patient food preferences, nutrition needs and other related activities
- SERVICE ISSUES - Consult with nursing personnel and patients concerning patient meal service and issues, as needed
- PERFORMANCE IMPROVE - Participate in performance improvement activities and help identify performance improvement criteria
- SUPERVISION - Supervise staff to ensure that proper techniques are used and that established procedures and standards are kept in all work areas
- EQUIPMENT - Check physical plant and equipment and report any problems to maintenance
- RELATED WORK - Perform related duties and responsibilities as required
Related Education and Experience may be substituted for one another on a year for year basis.
Education- Essential:

Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. May require walking or standing to a significant degree or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls;
and/or may require working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of materials is negligible.

- Tuberculosis testing is completed upon hire and additionally as required
Minimum Offer $20.82/hr.
Maximum Offer $28.55/hr.
