Mental Health Therapist

New Light Counseling is seeking a compassionate, driven, and skilled Outpatient Counselor to join our growing mental health team in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. If you’re passionate about helping individuals and families find healing, clarity, and hope—this is the place for you.

As an Outpatient Counselor at New Light Counseling, you will provide therapeutic services to a diverse population of clients in a warm, collaborative outpatient setting. This is a unique opportunity to build meaningful client relationships, grow professionally, and contribute to a practice that values both clinical excellence and human connection.

• Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling sessions
• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and develop treatment plans
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using the agency EHR
• Collaborate with other agency team to support holistic client care
• Participate in case consultations, trainings, and clinical supervision (as needed)
• Maintain licensure and stay current with best practices and ethical standards

• A licensed behavioral health professional in New Mexico (LMHC, LPCC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT)
• Experienced in outpatient mental health services (preferred, but new grads are welcome to apply)
• Passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges
• Strong in communication, organization, and empathy
• Comfortable with electronic health record (EHR) systems and maintaining clinical documentation (training provided)
• A team player with a growth mindset and professional integrity
