Hardware Design Engineer
This role involves the design, development, analysis, and verification of digital electronic circuits for avionics interface cards and embedded systems. You will work on FPGA-based hardware designs, digital interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I²C, and power regulation, sequencing, and monitoring circuits. Your duties will also include creating test plans, prototypes, and conducting engineering validation activities.
Responsibilities- Perform schematic capture, component selection, and design documentation.
- Support PCB layout engineers with constraints, placement, and routing guidance.
- Execute hardware bring‑up, debug, and signal‑level testing using lab instruments.
- Collaborate with the software team for API and UI implementation.
- Recommend and help track corrective and preventive actions.
- Follow and maintain company documentation standards and procedures.
- Follow, maintain, and improve company quality processes.
- Support production with root‑cause analysis, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and component lifecycle updates.
- At least 3 years of experience in electronic hardware design.
- At least 3 years of experience in digital circuit design, including FPGAs.
- Professional experience with schematic capture tools.
- Professional experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with EMC/EMI, COTS electronics, MIL‑STD‑1553, ARINC‑429/717.
- Experience in the avionics industry is a plus.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rio Rancho, NM.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85,000.00 – $ /hr.
