SALARY RANGES:
Project Manager - $91,336.31 to $/yr.
Engineering Project Manager - $ to $/yr.
Under direct supervision of the Department Director or designee and under the responsible charge of a licensed professional engineer or architect, performs work involved in the procurement, planning, design, construction, inspection, operation and maintenance of county infrastructure and systems, and serves as project manager during all phases of a project. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
Minimum Qualifications for Project Manager:- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Three years of experience in a related engineering or architectural function or project management.
- Project Management Certificate within one year of employment.
- Must possess or have ability to obtain within first sixty days of employment and must maintain a valid New Mexico Class D driver’s license.

Minimum Qualifications for Engineering Project Manager:- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- New Mexico Licensed Professional Engineer or registration in a different state with the ability to become licensed in New Mexico within six months of employment.
- Three years of experience in a related engineering function or for a consulting engineer.
- Must possess or have ability to obtain within first sixty days of employment and must maintain a valid New Mexico Class D driver’s license.
- Project Management Professional Certificate within one year of employment.
- Successful completion of the pre‑employment physical exam prior to commencing work.
- If working in Utilities, successful completion of mandatory drug screening and subsequent random drug and alcohol screenings.
- Experience in construction management, oversight and inspection of linear transportation projects
- Experience and understanding of construction standards and specifications for linear transportation projects
- Experience, training or certifications in materials testing (NM Technician Training and Certification Program or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS
- Project Management Professional Certificate
- Engineer in Training Certificate
