The Process Commissioning Technician is responsible for executing commissioning activities for mission‑critical process systems, with a primary focus on Ultra‑Pure Water (UPW) and Industrial Waste Systems (IWS). This role ensures systems are installed, tested, and operated in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and performance requirements. The technician will work closely with engineering, construction, and operations teams to support system turnover and startup.

Responsibilities
  • Execute commissioning activities for Ultra‑Pure Water (UPW) and Industrial Waste Systems (IWS) ensuring systems meet performance and operational requirements prior to turnover.
  • Review design documents including specifications, P&IDs, isometrics, equipment submittals, and control narratives to develop and maintain the commissioning database.
  • Identify discrepancies between design documentation and field installations; document findings and escalate issues to engineering and construction teams for resolution.
  • Develop system verification checklists and detailed functional test procedures to validate installation and operational readiness.
  • Perform system verification checks, pre‑functional checks, and functional performance testing in accordance with approved commissioning plans.
  • Review, update, and enhance mechanical Sequences of Operation (SOO) to ensure alignment between design intent and field execution.
  • Support startup activities and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient system commissioning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, testing records, and reporting throughout the commissioning lifecycle.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
Skills Required
  • Minimum 2+ years of hands‑on experience commissioning Ultra‑Pure Water (UPW) and wastewater systems in a mission‑critical facility (e.g., semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or high‑tech manufacturing environments).
  • Strong ability to interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, control narratives, and technical specifications.
  • Experience developing functional test scripts and system verification documentation.
  • Knowledge of process safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and safe startup procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills in field environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, construction, and operations teams.
Education / Licenses / Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (highly desirable, not required).
  • Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.
