Overview
Apprentice Prosthetic Technician. We have an excellent opportunity to begin a career in prosthetics within a clinical manufacturing environment. This full-time apprenticeship combines hands-on workshop training with structured study, supporting the production of prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices.

FULL APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROVIDED
This is a full-time position whilst remotely undergoing the Level 3 Prosthetic and Orthotic Technician apprenticeship programme associated with Derby University

Ringwood, Hampshire
JOB TYPE:
Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS:
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7.15am until 3.45pm, with one day equivalent study time per week (TBC)
- Workshop Support:
Integrating as a team member within the clinic workshop environment - Apprenticeship Completion:
Completing all required elements of the Level 3 Prosthetic and Orthotic Technician apprenticeship programme - Manufacturing Tasks:
Assisting with the manufacture of prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices under supervision - Clinical
Collaboration:
Working closely with clinical leads and the wider rehabilitation team to meet clinical directives - Health and Safety Compliance:
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times - Safe Working Practices:
Using tools, machinery, and equipment in line with training and safety guidance - Process Adherence:
Following set processes and contributing towards agreed performance targets - Record Keeping:
Logging and recording production work accurately using internal systems
- A strong interest in developing a career as a prosthetic technician
- Excellent practical skills with a hands-on approach to work
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Confidence communicating and working collaboratively with others
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude towards learning
- Five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A-C or 4-9, including Mathematics and English
- Evidence of recent study
- Physical ability to undertake manual workshop-based tasks
- Ability to meet occupational health requirements of the programme
- Willingness to undertake a DBS check
