Position SummaryThe Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and optimizing maintenance activities to ensure efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment downtime while supporting plant reliability and production goals.
This role focuses on translating maintenance strategies into clearly defined, executable work plans by establishing job scopes, labor estimates, material requirements, tools, and safety considerations prior to maintenance execution.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance Planning & Scheduling- Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities in coordination with production and operations teams.
- Develop detailed job plans defining work scope, estimated labor hours, tools, materials, and safety requirements.
- Prepare complete work packages for corrective maintenance, planned outages, and shutdown activities.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) plans and task frequencies.
- Plan predictive maintenance activities and coordinate follow-up corrective actions based on findings.
- Support equipment reliability by ensuring maintenance tasks are properly scoped and scheduled.
- Ensure spare parts, tools, contractors, and external resources are identified and available prior to scheduled work.
- Coordinate with storeroom, procurement, and maintenance teams to support work readiness.
- Support Single Point of Failure (SPOF) readiness by planning inspections and maintenance for critical equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance plans, job packages, and schedules within the CMMS.
- Support labor control and work order accuracy through CMMS management.
- Track and report planning accuracy metrics, PM compliance, and schedule adherence.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing maintenance intervals, task scopes, and planning effectiveness.
- Participate in reliability and maintenance improvement efforts focused on reducing downtime and improving asset performance.
