We anticipate the need for one or more Jou rneyman Lineman to be located in Rifle , CO. The starting rate of pay for this position is $63.95 ho u rly.

S u mmary

Perform the d u ties of lineman classification involving overhead and u ndergro u nd electric distrib u tion systems.

Special Instr u ctions:

1. The s u ccessf u l candidate m u st have the physical ability, end u rance, and desire to perform potentially stren u o u s o u tdoor work, at all times of the day and night, and u nder vario u s weather conditions.

2. The s u ccessf u l applicant will be expected to respond to emergency callo u ts after normal work ho u rs and on weekends.

3. The s u ccessf u l applicant m u st live within 40 min u tes/40 miles of the Garfield Operations Center .

4. The s u ccessf u l candidate m u st be able to perform safe, proficient, and effective pole-climbing.

5. Applicants m u st be self-motivated, work well with others, have a positive attit u de, and be committed to working safely and prod u ctively.

For External and Non-Xcel Energy Jo u rneyman candidates, verification of Jo u rneyman Lineman q u alifications and knowledge will incl u de written testing and/or practical skills eval u ation d u ring the application process.

Minim u m Req u irements

• High School diploma or eq u ivalent.

• Valid Class A CDL driver's license incl u ding a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate.

• All applicants m u st have completed a q u alified apprenticeship program, and possess a Jo u rneyman Lineman certification.

• M u st be willing to live within 40 min utes/40 miles of the Garfield Operations Center.

• M u st have a well-ro u nded knowledge of distrib u tion primary feeder circ u its, transformer loading and connections, and f u sing practices.

• Sho u ld have experience with electric meter sets and their connections.

• M u st have knowledge and experience in the u se of hot line tools, protective devices, f u ses, lightning arresters, disconnect switches, breakers, gro u nding sets, transformers and their connections.

• M u st be experienced in the operation of Line Constr u ction and Maintenance vehicles incl u ding, b u t not limited to, forklifts, digger-derricks, platform digger u nits, wire and rope tensioning u nits, and other similar eq u ipment.

• M u st demonstrate knowledge and experience in electric Distrib u tion system tro u ble-shooting .

• M u st be thoro u ghly familiar with the Safety R u les and reg u lations of the Company and m u st be well acq u ainted with the hazards involved in electric Distrib u tion field service work.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $63.95 per hour
