Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor

Position Purpose:

Performs a variety of skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance, repair, and laboratory analysis of the applicable wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, tanks, and systems. Provides daily oversight and support for Wastewater Plant Operators and serves as the operator in responsible charge for the wastewater treatment facility. This is an in-person position that is not eligible for regular remote work.

Experience and Training:

Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Job Requirements: Must possess valid Colorado Driver's License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Must possess valid Colorado CDL Class B (air brake and tanker endorsements) or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Must possess Colorado Wastewater Class A license and Colorado Wastewater Collection Class II license, or ability to obtain within one year of hire.

Must be able to pass a background check, DOT physical, drug and alcohol testing and MVR with results that are acceptable to the City of Rifle. Must maintain DOT medical certification. Must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing for random FMCSA required testing. Ability to work varying shifts, nights, overtime, and standby. Must maintain all licenses.

Work Experience in Positions Similar or Related to This Job: Minimum of five years related experience in wastewater plant operations, including experience in chemical, physical, and bacteriological analysis and one year of lead experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

This is a full-time position with benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance, as well as retirement, holiday, sick, and vacation pay. Wage range for this position is $40.56 - $46.73 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. This position is open until 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 15th.
