Job OpportunityWSP has an exciting career opportunity for an Environmental Remediation Project Manager/Office Manager to join our Rifle, CO team. Scope of this role includes remedial design, field investigations, contaminated site management, data analysis and team oversight. This role will work closely with contaminated site portfolio leads and ensure the correct delivery of projects within the oil and gas industry, as well as overseeing the Rifle office on a day‑to‑day basis, overseeing staff and assisting with monitoring progress on contractor submittals, requests for Information, information bulletins, change/field Orders.
This role would report to the North Mountain Site Investigation and Remediation (SIR) Service Line lead and be able to draw on expertise and resources in the SIR team throughout Colorado and the West.

Rifle, Colorado is a small town located on the beautiful Western Slope of Colorado, centrally located 30 minutes west of Glenwood Springs; 1 hour northeast of Grand Junction, 90 minutes northwest of Aspen, 2 hours west of Breckenridge, and 3 hours west of Denver. The town offers abundant outdoor recreation, including skiing, fly fishing, hiking, camping, rafting, kayaking, and mountain biking.
YourImpact
- Assist Senior Project Managers with their duties as necessary.
- Coordinate weekly scheduling meetings.
- Assist project teams with multiple projects as requested.
- Provide support to other staff on processes and requirements, monitor contract compliance, and participate in the development of contracts.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Manage and oversee projects under the client’s Terms and Conditions which have been negotiated prior.
- Support field staff collecting soil, groundwater and air samples for field and/or laboratory analyses.
- Assist in reviewing the creation of detailed maps, lithologic logs and cross sections, gathering, tabulating and analyzing data.
- Prepare and review proposals, cost estimates and technical reports for regulatory agencies submission.
- Oversee the team operating and maintaining field equipment and instrumentation.
- Understand federal and state rules and regulations regarding environmental permitting compliance and remediation.
- Provide senior‑level expertise and technical guidance on complex regulatory projects.
- Lead and mentor geologists, engineers and environmental scientists, guiding junior staff.
- Prepare technical and forms reports related to the Energy and Carbon Management Commission, Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission and Utah Department of Oil, Gas and Mining.
- Takes projects from original discovery through final remediation.
- Oversee various moderately complex projects without the oversight of a Senior Project Manager and minimal oversight from technical teams.
- Responsible for assembling project/task teams and assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed. Teams may be large, multi‑disciplinary, and may reside in various states.
- Develop the project scope and objectives and clarify the role and function of each team member to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate risk on projects where the client may not have a full understanding of the project risks.
