The Village of Ridgewood is seeking a full-time Assistant Supervisor for the Division of Solid Waste.

Under the direction of a Recycling Coordinator/Supervisor of Sanitation, the candidate will:

• Supervise and work with a group of employees engaged in refuse collection and disposal. Perform other related duties as required.
• Maintain schedules of garbage and recycling collections. Supervise the handling of containers to prevent damage.
• Recommend the acquisition of equipment, materials, and supplies. Ensure the proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies. Prepare and keep records of personnel, payroll and work tasks, equipment used, and time spent;
• Assume duties, responsibilities, and authority of the Supervisor, when required. On occasion, the Assistant Supervisor may be required to work after scheduled hours to supervise work.

Candidate should have two (2) years of experience in work involving the collection and disposal of refuse, and have knowledge of varied types of tools, equipment and materials used in garbage and recycling collections. Candidate should possess a class B driver’s license valid in New Jersey.
