We are seeking a front-line manager to lead three H&R Block tax offices, guiding customer-centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business. Prior tax preparation experience is not required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership over three tax offices and manage day-to-day operations, staffing, and logistics with support from Associate Team Leaders.
  • Partner with the District General Manager (DGM) to develop and implement office growth plans and client growth targets, including local partnerships and community involvement.
  • Recruit and interview candidates for tax office associate positions in collaboration with the DGM.
  • Conduct timely performance reviews and address performance concerns with the Associate Relations Center as needed.
  • Build an engaging team environment across all offices through training, coaching, and recognizing outstanding contributions.
  • Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
  • Create associate work schedules across all offices and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management.
  • Travel between offices as required.
  • Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
What you’ll bring to the team

  • Strong collaboration with leadership to drive growth and client acquisition through local partnerships.
  • Experience in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office roles.
  • Ability to conduct performance reviews and address issues in partnership with the appropriate teams.
  • Ability to train and coach associates, fostering a high-performing, client-focused culture.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead meetings and coordinate across offices.
  • Schedule development and labor management across multiple locations.
  • Willingness to travel between offices.
  • Tax-related duties as needed after completing required tax training.
Your Expertise
  • People management experience with the ability to develop associates.
  • Track record of executing growth plans and leading a growth-oriented culture.
  • Strong decision-making and judgment in fast-paced environments with minimal supervision.
  • Customer-centric mindset with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience.
  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
