Job Description :
Pay Range: $50.5hr - $53.5hr
- The Scientist IV will design, develop, and execute advanced functional genomics assays to support research initiatives.
- This role requires deep expertise in CRISPR technologies, next-generation sequencing, and single-cell platforms, along with the ability to guide team members, maintain data integrity, and contribute to scientific innovation in a collaborative research environment.
- Design, develop, and execute functional genomics assays including CRISPR-based editing such as RNP delivery and Perturb-seq, single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and CITE-seq.
- Provide technical guidance and training to research scientists on functional genomics technologies, assay execution, and troubleshooting.
- Document and maintain detailed laboratory records in accordance with internal policies.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in collaboration with team members.
- Assist with acquisition of necessary laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Define and perform appropriate quality control measures.
- Stay current with scientific literature to apply optimal methods and emerging best practices.
- Interpret experimental outcomes, propose follow-up experiments, and suggest new research directions.
- Communicate work effectively through oral presentations and written documentation including protocols and technical reports.
- Automate data processing and results reporting where applicable.
- Handle and report data with a high level of integrity and ethical standards.
- Hands-on experience designing CRISPR guides, performing transfections or infections, selecting edited cells, and validating knockouts or knock-ins.
- Hands-on experience in next-generation sequencing library preparation.
- Personal experience with single-cell technologies including sample preparation, library generation, and quality control.
- Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques including qPCR, Western blotting, cloning, and gel electrophoresis.
- Strong cell culture experience including maintenance of multiple cell lines, transfections, and sterile technique.
- Ability to perform multiple functional genomics experimental techniques simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary and collaborative research environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot functional genomics experiments independently and within a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a commitment to transparency and consistency.
- Experience with laboratory automation technologies.
- Ph.D. or Master s degree from an accredited institution in molecular biology, cell biology, or a related scientific discipline with six or more years of relevant experience.
