This role as a Chef de Partie at Avery Healthcare in Chorleywood offers a temporary position with a competitive hourly rate of £15.50 to £16.00. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in providing a high-quality culinary service that contributes to the overall wellbeing of the residents.

As a Chef de Partie, your focus will be to assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in leading a culinary team that delivers a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality food service. This will involve preparing nutritious meals and beverages, participating in meetings with residents and department heads, supporting cost-effective stock control, and collaborating to develop and review the menu.

About the role

Your focus as Chef de Partie will be to support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead a culinary team that provides a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive and high-quality culinary service, which contributes to the overall wellbeing of the residents.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Taking part in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree catering functions across the home, and to address special needs or dietary requirements of residents.
  • Preparing nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Head Chef.
  • Supporting cost-effective stock control systems to minimise waste and ensure these are in place.
  • Working with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and review the menu on a regular basis.

  • Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706 or NVQ or equivalent.
  • Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Have a minimum of 1‑year catering experience.
  • Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high‑quality culinary services to residents.
  • Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Person Specification Qualifications
