Senior Commissioning Engineer Rickmansworth and surrounding areaAs a Senior Commissioning Engineer, you will lead the commissioning delivery across a portfolio of projects, ensuring seamless integration of MEICA systems and processes. You'll play a pivotal role in developing and implementing commissioning strategies, managing resources, and maintaining compliance with industry standards
What you will be doing:- Drive the successful delivery of commissioning activities for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with project scope, interfaces, and constraints.
- Develop and maintain the Project Commissioning Plan, Strategy, and associated documentation from outline design through to project award and completion.
- Work closely with the Head of Delivery, Operations Managers, and BU Head of MEICA & Commissioning to allocate competent resources.
- Collaborate with the client Asset Operations Team to ensure smooth integration with existing assets.
- Guarantee all MEICA installations meet technical requirements, client specifications, and relevant standards (including WIMES).
- Organise and oversee MEICA installation, testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring robust engagement and site testing.
- Liaise with specialist teams (DSEAR, Technical Authors, Document Controllers) to ensure clarity on deliverables and timelines.
- Coordinate training plans, including specialist supplier/subcontractor training where required.
- Maintain regular updates to commissioning programmes, hold progress meetings, and ensure alignment with the main contract schedule.
- Enforce Electrical & Mechanical safety rules and ensure all inspection and test documentation is completed accurately.
- Manage pre-takeover requirements, clear outstanding works, and ensure all O&M documentation is handed over to the document control team.
- Proven experience commissioning complex projects within the water industry, ideally in a contracting environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and maintain motivation over extended delivery periods.
- Excellent understanding of MEICA systems, water treatment processes, and associated plant/equipment.
- Commercial awareness and ability to assess the impact of change.
- Competent in Microsoft Office for reporting and presentations.
- Structured approach to commissioning plant, equipment, and processes.
- Industry-recognised qualifications and experience in site management and client interface.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver MEICA & commissioning through to successful project takeover.
Certifications:
- CSCS/ECS Card in appropriate discipline
- BS7671 (18th Edition)
- Full UK driving licence
- SSSTS
