Chemistry Teacher

To plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a secondary environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

• Illinois Professional Educator License in Chemistry or Biology

• Provide quality instruction for students in regular and honors courses in chemistry.
• Establish a positive and supportive environment for an effective instructional program.
• Encourage a consistent productive classroom environment.
• Demonstrate respect for diverse perspectives, ideas, and options.

• Assist students in setting goals and assuming responsibility.
• Enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policies.
• Use technology resources effectively.
• Instruction is guided by the Danielson Framework of Teaching.
• Collaborate with others to improve student academic performance.
• Communicate effectively with staff members, students, parents, administrators, and community personnel.
• Provide accurate and timely information to parents and students about student attendance.
• Keep administrators informed of parent contact and document interaction.
• Act in a professional and ethical manner and adhere at all times to ethical behavior and professional conduct consistent with federal, state, and Board policies.
• Demonstrate attention to punctuality and regular attendance.
• Ensure adherence to good safety standards.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
• Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
• Demonstrate support for the school and its goals and policies.
• Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
