Overview
The Supplemental Linehaul Coordinator handles freight delays and assists drivers due to equipment failure, inclement weather, accidents, hazardous material (i.e., hazmat) spills, road closures, and other delays. They maintain internal communications to report the status of drivers, freight, and equipment. The Coordinator also maintains communication with the vendors used for towing, accident clean-up, and repairs. This position coordinates repairs of physical assets, controls costs, and manages vendor relationships.
They facilitate driver compensation due to delays and administer distribution and reimbursement of related expenses (e.g., tolls, overweight fines, repair costs, etc.). This position monitors the Com Data website and supports issuance of Com Checks to aid drivers. The Coordinator works with various internal groups (e.g., Safety, Fleet Services) to ensure quality control and safety measures. This position coordinates accident management and reporting to minimize cost and risk exposure.
They gather accident information from drivers to determine accident severity, evaluate equipment damage, and develop action plans. This position handles equipment failures to maintain operations, track equipment repair history, and create solutions. The incumbent gathers information from drivers to understand needs, equipment concerns, and equipment failures. They coordinate the handling of hazmat incidents to ensure proper handling, avoid risks, and protect TFFs interests (e.g., employees, assets, customers property, etc.).
In addition, the Coordinator tracks equipment that is being held by tow-companies and/or storage facilities so that we dispose of or return the equipment to a local service center.
- Assists Operations with trailer hazmat labeling (i.e., placarding) requirements to ensure accuracy and to avoid regulatory infractions, penalties, and fines.
- Provides driver support to promote safety, minimize risks, and mitigate delivery delays.
- Addresses driver needs related to in-route delays to ensure timely freight delivery.
- Coordinates vendor management and invoicing for repairs to minimize cost and equipment down time.
- Creates ad-hoc reports to inform decision-making regarding break-downs, delays, etc.
- Maintains vendor information to ensure accurate data.
- Serves as a liaison to minimize operational disruptions, ensure proper accident management, support employee well-being, and minimize risk exposure.
- U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.

- Must be in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience using Microsoft Office products or equivalent software
- Technical or Vocational degree preferred
