About our company: Our company, Directional Signing Program LLC, was awarded the contract to provide turn-key services for the Integrated Directional Signing Program developed by VDOT. The Integrated Directional Sign Program (IDSP) is an umbrella program comprised of four unique sign types designed to guide motorists to various essential services, including businesses, attractions, tourist destinations, and other points of interest. The IDSP provides interested establishments a single point of contact to apply for signs along state-maintained highways.
Company Mission: Through GIS technology, innovation, collaboration, and responsible stewardship, Directional Signing Program LLC will deliver a fully integrated directional signing program that is best-in-class among DOT's and will far exceed the expectations of all stakeholders.
We are currently looking for a Sign Installation Technician whose main purpose is to provide support for the Field Crew Supervisor. Job requires constant overnight paid travel (4-5 days per week) across Virginia. Our ideal candidate is a smart, positive, solution-oriented individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills. This is a new venture in Virginia (we currently operate a similar business in Texas), so we need someone flexible and able to improve systems and operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assembly and Installation of large and small highway signs in the field.
- Repairing, cleaning, and trimming vegetation for large and small highway signs.
- Placement of traffic control devices, signs, and markers in compliance with work zone diagrams.
- Maintain safety zone while directing movement of vehicular traffic through work zone using sign, hand, and flag signals.
- Wear and always maintain PPE.
- Assist with various projects as needed.
- Keep waste to a minimum.
Requirements:
- Be able to travel throughout Virginia 4-5 days a week.
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Have reliable transportation to and from our Richmond, VA warehouse once a week.
CDL License or willingness to gain one is a plus.
