Overview
The Head Volleyball Coach is responsible for recruitment, fundraising, program development, practice preparation, scheduling of games, game day coaching, and all associated travel. Recruiting duties include scouting, identifying and recommending student athletes in a manner that encourages diversity while maintaining a competitive team. Rules compliance duties include managing the volleyball program in full compliance with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Paul
D. Camp Community College, and Athletics Department policies and procedures.
- Recruitment, fundraising, program development, practice preparation, scheduling of games, game day coaching, and travel.
- Scouting, identifying and recommending student athletes with a focus on diversity and competitiveness.
- Ensure compliance with NJCAA, college policies and athletics department procedures.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned; may assist the agency or state government in emergencies.
- Previous college-level experience in playing, coaching or training volleyball.
- Knowledge in fundraising and recruiting.
- Valid driver’s license and use of a personal automobile, with the ability to be insured to drive college vehicles.
- Available for frequent evening and weekend games and practices.
- Ability to use sound judgment and critical thinking skills when determining students’ needs.
- Ability to apply knowledge of college and NJCAA policies and procedures.
- Ability to relate to potential students with diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to interact with faculty and staff as it relates to student academic needs.
- Volleyball college-level coaching or playing experience on the college level.
- Experience in fundraising and recruiting college-level student-athletes.
