As a CoStar Senior Software Engineer on the Data Automation team, you will play a key role in expanding the data platform that supports all of CoStar Group’s largest brands including, CoStar Suite, Loop Net and  You will deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software. We firmly believe that what separates a good developer from a great one is a deep understanding of the business that they are supporting.

This position is located in Richmond, VA and the work schedule will be 4 days onsite with 1 day remote.

• Build big, distributed, API-driven systems for tens of thousands of users
• Produce bullet-proof code that is robust, efficient and maintainable; our primary tools are React JS, C#, .NET Framework, AWS (Dynamo/S3/Lambda), SQL Server
• Drive and lead software design, development standards, code reviews
• Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can be leveraged to strength CoStar’s technology platform and develop practices

• Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College
• 4+ years of experience in React JS, Java Script
• 4+ years of experience in C#, .NET Framework & Web API 2.0 Development
• 3+ years of experience in MS SQL Server OR Database Design in T-SQL programming/performance tuning
• Experience in architecting, designing and building large scale distributed, services-oriented systems and web applications in an agile environment
• Data modeling experience
• A track record of commitment to prior employers

• Strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
• Advanced SQL Querying
• Data modeling experience from conceptual, logical and physical designs
• Experience with RESTful web services
