M. Davis Landscape & Design Inc. is looking for a reliable full-time General Equipment Operator for the upcoming busy season. Applicants should be experienced in operating 5 tonne or 8 tonne shovels and ready for a fast‑paced work environment. Come be part of a dedicated and growing team.

Working under our landscape construction superintendent and foreman, your requirements and responsibilities will include:

• Must have a minimum of 1-3 years experience operating 5 tonne and/or 8 tonne shovels.
• Ability to operate skid steer, excavator, backhoe and loader.
• Team player. Help the labour crew with general site work when not operating machinery.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Ability to final grade is an asset.
• Must be able to work with deadlines while maintaining good attention to detail.
• Ability to unload and load trucks.
• Must have own transportation.

• Ensure all work is completed to Canadian Landscape Standards.
• Responsible for assisting the foreman in the daily completion of quality activities and tasks.
• Conduct daily pre‑use inspections electronically for all equipment checks prior to using the equipment through mobile device.
• Ability to read and understand Utility Locates.
• Perform basic maintenance on equipment and machinery, including greasing and fluid levels.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including keeping the machine and cab clean.
• Work in a way that will not endanger yourself or others.
• Understand the hazards associated with tasks and controls in place.
• Participate in Pre‑job Safety Assessment (PSA) daily, and weekly toolbox safety talk.
• Use equipment, protective devices, PPE, and clothing based on legislation, and Davis Landscaping safe work practices and safe job procedures.
• Report all incidents, defects, unsafe conditions, and unidentified hazard to your supervisor.
• Do not remove or interfere with any safeguards.
• WHMIS, 4 Step Health & Safety Awareness, Workplace Violence & Harassment for Workers, and AODA.
• Adhere to all OHSA regulations, M. Davis Landscape & Design Inc. Health and Safety policies and procedures, and comply with site specific rules.

This is a full‑time position. Remuneration is based on qualifications and experience.
