Description
Our customer specializes in 4 major telecommunications categories: LMR (Land Mobile Radio), IBS (in building systems, IDAS), ITS (Intelligent transportation systems), and Physical Security.
Our customer has a number of in‑building projects that they will work on over the next few years, including the construction and maintenance of in‑building wireless access points. They are currently supporting projects in the federal, state, and local government, education, transportation, venues/stadiums, and healthcare fields.
This scope specifically is for the Richmond, VA market where MCA is supporting DAS/low‑voltage installation, maintenance, RMA, public safety, fiber, coax, ODAS/IDAS, new builds, existing campuses, hospitals, schools, stadiums, etc. Home‑base is Richmond, VA but candidates must be open to travel and overnight stays to the TN market. Resources must be open to travel with overnight stays of up to 4 nights at a time, returning on the weekend.
The candidate will drive a company vehicle, hotels will be covered, and a $65.00/day per‑diem will be provided.
- Support DAS maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and warranty support across major university campuses, stadiums, commercial buildings, and public‑safety environments.
- Provide day‑2 support after system turn‑up and manage long‑term customer systems, RMA work, and maintenance for legacy DAS networks.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation every 6‑8 weeks.
- Perform fiber testing and troubleshooting using Fluke, AFL, and OTDR.
- Scope and splice single‑mode fiber.
- Work 40‑hour weeks with potential overtime.
- OEM familiarity: JMA, Corning, Comba, Comm Scope.
- Fiber testing & troubleshooting (Fluke, AFL, OTDR required).
- Fiber scoping and splicing (single‑mode).
- Strong knowledge of low‑voltage cabling, coax, J‑hooks, Cat6, and DAS components.
- Experience with site surveys, blueprint reading, and inventory management.
- Leadership and communication skills for crew management.
