Summary/ObjectiveManages day-to-day operations for new construction plumbing field trade. Provides guidance, supervision, and direction to plumbing staff consisting of helpers, apprentices, mechanics and Foreman. Ensures safety, job quality, ACI standards, productivity, and customer satisfaction is maintained at every stage regarding plumbing field staff. Responsible for all plumbing systems and the different types of installation procedures for each outlined below.
Essential Functions- Oversee plumbing field manpower to ensure construction efforts on plumbing projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule and following details on contract drawings along with manufacture instructions on products.
- Conduct preparatory on-site meetings with crews before any installation to ensure the team is aware of: installation practices, specs for material type and joining, hanger spacing, specific tools needed, daily production goals, and testing requirements.
- Oversee domestic water installations, including solder joints, brazed joints, grooved joint systems on SS sch 10 and copper piping, and pro press systems with adherence to installation steps and training.
- Oversee waste/vent and storm installations including hub and spigot installation, no hub installation, PVC glue and primer installation, grooved systems installation, and fused system installation for medical, lab, etc. facilities.
- Oversee hydronic copper installation systems from 2" and down; must have vast knowledge of hydronic systems with flushing and venting practices to ensure a complete working system on turnover.
- Oversee medical gas system installations with certification, low voltage wiring, material review, purge techniques, med gas tool kit maintenance, and compliance with most current code.
- Oversee compressed air system installations with understanding of required materials and testing procedures per manufacturer requirements.
- Oversee lab gas installations with certification, knowledge of different gases, vacuum systems, and proper purge practices.
- Oversee natural gas installations including brazed copper, venting off boilers, water heaters, furnaces and other appliances with copper vents off regulators.
- Oversee other plumbing systems on specialized projects as needed.
- Teaching-Coaching and Training: set tone for the team; ensure every plumbing team member is trained on the system, understands daily goals, and is empowered to hit targets with pride and consistency.
- Manpower: review 4-week look-aheads with superintendents, manage personnel distribution, maintain blended rate coverage, document performance, and build a high-performing plumbing team.
- Standards: keep ACI plumbing standards up to date with technology changes and ensure field-wide alignment on installation practices.
- QA/QC: complete QA/QC observations and walks; ensure two-week look-ahead planning; maintain standards within the department; participate in interviewing, hiring, and training; enforce safety and incident reporting; maintain field personnel logs; perform other duties as assigned.

Required- 10 years of commercial plumbing supervision and 10 years of hands-on plumbing trade work or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
- Proficiency in plumbing field supervision
- High regard for safety standards with organizational skills
- Extensive knowledge of piping system installation
- Eagerness to take on challenges and work through adversity
- Ability to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Adherence to all company policy and procedures
- Clean driving record
- Must be available and able to report to multiple job sites as assigned, with varying schedules including extended hours and client-specific safety standards
