Job Description

Diesel Mechanic – earn up to $36.50 per hour. Full‑time, Monday – Friday, second shift (3:00 pm – 1:30 am). PTO available after the first 90 calendar days of employment, plus an excellent benefits package including employee resort stays.

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our Colonial Heights, VA Service Center. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for day‑to‑day equipment maintenance on our fleet of Class 8 trucks, trailers, and possibly forklifts. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance and minor to major repairs, trailer PMs, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and welding (location dependent). Watch video:

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Ability to handle major repairs.
• Experience with AC and electrical systems.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must have own tools.
• 2+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred.
• Experience maintaining Cummins & Detroit engines.
• Experience using Cetaris for work orders.
• Class A CDL holder.
• Experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks.
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs.

Additional experience or certifications related to trailer maintenance, welding, or forklift operation are a plus.
