Job Responsibilities
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs utility electrical systems up to 4160 volts including circuit breakers, motor starters, protection systems, motor control centers, lighting systems, conduit, and wiring.
  • Installs and maintains safety systems including emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, uninterruptible power systems, battery systems, and utility communications systems.
  • Installs, analyzes, maintains, and repairs control equipment that includes Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Assists with troubleshooting and maintenance of utility control systems including boilers, material handling (conveyors), chillers, and water treatment systems.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of experience working in an industrial plant environment
  • Licensed Journeyman‑level electrician or successful completion of state certified apprenticeship program in utility systems, industrial plant, process plant, or power plant with motor controls and station power systems operating at a minimum of 4160 volts.
Additional Qualifications
  • Knowledge of utility systems and equipment
  • Ability to work an 8 hour rotating shift
  • Knowledge of tools and methods necessary to troubleshoot and maintain electrical and electronic equipment
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the electrical field
  • Knowledge of the principles of electronics
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret local, state, and national electrical codes
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ability to comply with OSHA procedures
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, control system drawings and repair manuals
  • Ability to perform basic math computations
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions

The hourly rate for this position is $43.56
