Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Richmond, Virginia.

- Hourly Pay: $25.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, weekends off - Hours:
Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
- Annual Merit Pay Increases each year

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, brake and tire work
- Two or more years of a combination of classroom training and work experience (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for last 3 years
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections and repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostics computer when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once task assigned
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including Service Island support
