Diesel Bus Mechanic; Class A

Academy Busis seeking a full-time Bus Mechanic (Class

A) for our Richmond, VA location. $2500 Sign On Bonus.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekends.

Pay - $34.00 - $42.00 per hour.

• Repair, troubleshooting and diagnosis of modern tour buses
• Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance
• Inspections and road tests
• Warranty and repair documentation
• Diagnosis, inspection, installation, disassembly and cleaning of components such as:brakes, suspension, tires,bearings, seals, radiators, water pumps, coolant hoses, alternators, regulators, steering components, oil/air filters, door assemblies, controls, seats, belts, electric motors, pneumatic valves, cables, and linkages.
• Must have bus experience, specifically working on Cummins and Detroit
• Respond to road calls
• Basic welding/fabrication
• Class A Mechanics will train and supervise Mechanics and Cleaners.
• 7+ years of diesel engine maintenance
• Proficient in the use of diagnostic devices such as: DDEC readers, ATEC readers, Smar Tire, schematics, AIC (Freon) recovery and charging equipment
• Proven ability to use hands tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, welding equipment,and testing instruments
• Must have own tools
• Valid driver's license
• Basic computer skills
• CDL License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsement is a plus but not required, willingness to obtain a CDL License is also desirable.
